Daddy-O is a memorial website where family and friends can share memories, add comments, and RSVP to events. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

• Memories & Comments: name, message/comment text, optional email, and any photos/videos you upload.
• RSVPs: name, email (optional unless you request notifications), phone (optional), guest count, and attendance choices.
• Account (Google Sign-In): your Google account email and display name. We use these to identify you and pre-fill forms.
• Approvals & Preferences: whether you ask for notifications and whether a memory is public or private.
• Technical: basic logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
• reCAPTCHA: we use Google reCAPTCHA to reduce spam; it may collect device and interaction data per Google’s policies.

How We Use Information

• To operate the site (display memories, comments, and media).
• To moderate and approve submissions.
• To send notifications you request (e.g., approval or reply notices).
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix issues.

When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share only as needed to operate the site:

• Hosting/Infrastructure providers that power the website and email delivery.
• Legal/Safety when required by law or to protect our users and services.

Public vs. Private Memories

When you create a memory you can choose to make it public. Public memories may be visible to anyone visiting the site. Private memories are restricted to family areas of the site. You can also opt in to receive notifications.

Google Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and display name. We use this information to identify your submissions and pre-fill forms. You can revoke our access at any time in your Google Account settings. We do not request access to your Google contacts, files, or calendars.

reCAPTCHA

This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

Data Retention

We retain submissions (memories, comments, RSVPs) as part of the memorial record unless you request deletion or we remove content for policy reasons. Server logs are retained for a limited time for security and diagnostics.

Your Choices & Rights

• You can submit memories/comments without signing in (email optional unless you request notifications).
• You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information.
• You may revoke Google Sign-In access via your Google Account.

Children

Daddy-O is intended for people 13+ and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and post the new version here.
